Computing

The computer science/ICT department in the Academy has been established for a number of years. Throughout this time staff and pupils have developed, and worked through, a number of different courses and qualifications surrounding Information and Communications Technology and Computer Science.

In the last 3 years the department has started implementing new courses inline with local and national expectations. These courses include:

• S1 ICT
• Intermediate 1 Computing Studies
• Intermediate 1 Internet Safety
• Intermediate 2 Computing
• Higher Computing
• Advanced Higher Computing
• European Computer Drivers Licence (ECDL)

In the coming sessions will be looking at replacing some of the Intermediate courses with the new National 4 and National 5 qualifications.
